Anita, the heart and muscle behind our army tent fabric

At the core of Pooch’s commitment to sustainability is a woman named Anita, a true powerhouse based in Noord-Holland. If you’re picturing someone slowing down with age, think again. Anita, over 60 and stronger than most, runs the show when it comes to sourcing the army tents we upcycle for our dog beds. She moves with the speed and precision of someone half her age and is easily the hardest-working woman I know.

But don’t expect a soft, sentimental story here. Anita’s no-nonsense approach to business is refreshing. She’s the kind of person who wouldn’t appreciate me going on about how amazing she is, but I’ll say this: without her relentless work ethic and incredible fabric finds, Pooch products wouldn’t have the sturdy, reliable materials we use today.

Then there’s her boss, an 84-year-old legend with a heart full of love for dogs—especially his Maltese. Word to the wise: don’t mess with that little furball. This guy’s devotion to his pup is unmatched, and it’s kind of inspiring to see that level of dedication, even in the fabric business.

Anita is a cornerstone of Pooch’s product journey, bringing us the raw materials we transform into stylish, durable dog beds. She’s proof that sustainability doesn’t just come from materials—it comes from hardworking people with a passion for what they do.

Stay tuned for more stories from the people behind our products!
